(BOSTON, MA) – February 28, 2019 – Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League (MBYLL) announced today that the Board of Directors approved $75,000 in regional enrichment funds for the 2019 season. Each of the five regions in MBYLL will be allocated $15,000 to be used at their discretion. This follows board approval last Fall to reduce both the league player and coach registration fees for the 2019 season.
“The MBYLL Board of Directors took action over the past few years to lower our operating and insurance costs,” said Tom Spangenberg, President of MBYLL. “These actions put us in a strong financial position to both lower league registration fees and provide funds to support enrichment programs across Central and Eastern Massachusetts.”
Representatives from each town meet at monthly regional meetings. This month they will be discussing how to best utilize the enrichment funds to meet the needs of their town programs. Regions will look to host coach education clinics and player skills clinics, conduct end of season celebrations, and provide equipment to towns and individuals in need.
“Our mission as a league is to teach, grow and honor the game,” said Spangenberg. Lowering fees and providing more education and experiences through enrichment funds are key steps to meeting our goals.”
